Ride The Algarve Way
From May 13th-19th 2007, a group of horse riders will traverse the Algarve, Portugal, from Alcoutim to Cape St Vincent in 6 days. This route, known as The Algarve Way, was used in mediaeval times by pilgrims paying homage to the martyred St Vincent then enshrined at the Cape now named after him.
Why? To raise funds for:
Riding for the Disabled: An organization which helps people of all ages with a variety of physical and mental disabilities to improve their co-ordination, confidence and general life skills by encouraging them to ride.
PSP- Progressive Supranuclear Palsy: A harrowing degenerative disease with symptoms such as sudden collapsing spells, inability to swallow, progressive loss of vision, speech and movement, invariably leading to death within 6 or 7 years from the onset. Support is needed for both research and patient care.
